Wallace Theodore Johnson, Jr. (Ted), age 76, of Richfield, M.N. died October 19th, 2024, surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by son, Todd Johnson; sister, Patricia Johnson Weinstein; and parents Wallace and Almeda Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife, Lauren; daughter, Amy (Don) Berry of Rogers; grandchildren, Sydney and Jack; son, Jeff (Naomi) Johnson of Bloomington; sister, Merrilee (Dan) Larson of Bloomington; brothers-in-law, Roger (Laura) Smith of Bristol, TN and Michael (Aggie) Smith of Watkinsville, GA; nephews, David (Jennifer) Larson of Orono, Theodore (Ann) Larson of Eden Prairie and Trey Smith of New Orleans, LA; nieces, Rachel Smith of Atlanta, GA and Katie (Rusty) Mabe of Johnson City, TN; and many long-time and beloved friends.

He was born in Brookings, S.D. and lived in Decorah, Iowa, before his parents and family moved to Minneapolis in 1952. Ted graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota. He was a life long fan of Gopher Football, Gopher Basketball, and also enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins. Ted worked for Stouffer’s Frozen Foods and Riddell/All American. Through Riddell he worked with and befriended many of the State’s high school and college football coaches. Ted was a youth football and baseball coach in Richfield, an amateur Civil War historian, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with his family at the family cabin in Brainerd, MN.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Heart to Home and Accent Care where Ted received loving hospice care in his last weeks.
