Losing a loved one is never easy. At the Cremation Society of Minnesota, our professional staff will help to carry your family and loved ones through one of the most difficult times they may experience in their lifetime. With unique personalization options like our ShareLife® program, we provide a variety of ways to celebrate a loved one in ways unlike any other funeral home in the area. At the time of need, our licensed funeral directors are here to help guide your family in the direction that will best honor the life of your loved one with a variety of affordable, customizable options.
When a loved one chooses to be cremated, it is important to know that survivors are not limited in the number of ways they can honor their life. Cremation offers equally as many – in some cases more – options for family and friends to honor and celebrate the life of their loved one. When cremation is chosen, services can happen in any of our five locations, at his or her favorite park, a family church, a local restaurant, or even at home.
Flameless Cremation Services
An alternative to flame-based cremation, Flameless Cremation is an eco-friendly, gentle process that uses water, temperature, and pressure to duplicate what happens naturally in decomposition. Just like in traditional flame-based cremation, the loved one’s ashes are returned to the family for memorialization. The flameless cremation process uses less energy, has zero emissions, and leaves a smaller carbon footprint.
Traditional Services Followed by Cremation
In some cases, a loved one or their survivors wish for a traditional service with viewing before cremation. This allows family and friends the opportunity to view their loved one in a casket prior to cremation, while keeping the expense lesser than that of traditional services requiring cemetery property and other additional services.
Traditional burial services allow family and friends the opportunity to view their loved one in a casket prior to placement in a chosen cemetery. When traditional burial services are chosen, our licensed funeral directors will assist the family in making all necessary arrangements with the chosen cemetery.
A life celebration allows family and friends time to gather and find support from other friends and loved ones while sharing memories and unique stories in a less formal setting. In many cases, the loved one’s remains are not present; it is simply a time to display pictures, share stories and uniquely celebrate a life well-lived. Many life celebrations take place weeks or even months following a death, no matter whether cremation or traditional burial services are chosen.
If a death occurs away from home, our licensed funeral directors will assist your family in the process of returning your loved one home safely. The process and costs associated with these services will differ, depending on the state or country where the death occurs.
