When Chuck and I were first married The Salvation Army was new to me. Years ago when the Wandlings were the Captains in Duluth. We enjoyed so many things and i still have a tape of an Easter concert where Larry and Harriet sang a beautiful duet. What few people know is that Harriet saved my life. When I was pregnant with Kris I became so ill I was in the hospital for 10 days. One day Harriet quietly stood by my bed . She said, "Jan, You are not getting better. You need a different doctor. I will send one in to see you." From that day on I improved and have a lovely daughter to prove it. If Harriet had not stepped in neither I nor Kris would have survived the birth. Harriet was so quiet but she was strong and courageous. I am grateful to this day and bless her memory. God bless you dear Family as you adjust to living on this earth without her, knowing she is part of the great cloud of witnesses waiting for us to come home.
