This is the guy that may have turned my life from disaster to success. I was raised in a very poor, dysfunctional family, but I was blessed with some brains, and Lou saw that and fostered me along with great attitude adjustments and gave me a sense of survival. I am retired now from a great career; I wish I would have expressed to him what he did for me. I think he knew, but gosh, the world was a better place because of this man.

Mr. Paciotti was my 6th grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary. I can honestly say he was one of the best teachers I ever had. I was a tough kid to teach, but he broke through and opened my eyes to learning. One highlight was when we got a new Apple Computer in our classroom, he would award us time on it for being good students. I'm now an IT Director at a University. I'm sure many things influenced my path in life, but Mr. P definitely helped. We were the last 6th grade to finish at Jefferson as well. My condolences to the family and friends of Mr. P. He definitely touched so many lives in our community.

Mr. Paciotti was my 6th grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary in 1978-79. He was my favorite teacher. I can honestly say I’ve never had such a funny and “cool” teacher like him. He made school fun. He made me want to come to school. During our 6th grade year, he taught our class how to play volleyball during gym and because I caught on to the basics of the game so quickly, Mr. Paciotti and I took on the entire class in a game. Mr. P and I won. It was so much fun. I can even remember once when Penny came to school with Mr. Paciotti and our class was able to meet her. She was a shy and adorable little girl. I have so many wonderful memories of being in Mr. Paciotti’s class. He was one of those teachers you think about with fond memories over the years and wonder how they are. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences go out to his family.

Mary Jane:
Lou was never far away in memory as I included him on my "Prayers for Repair" list over the past several years. I don't know what repair means, necessarily, except that in Louie's case, he has been repaired by the Great Physician. Please accept Sheila's (Buncich) and my condolences during these days. May Lou's soul rest in the peace of Jesus Christ.

Mr. Paciotti was my teacher at Jefferson School in Duluth. He was hands down my favorite teacher of all my school years. He made learning fun and exciting. He treated all of his students with care and compassion. I am sure all teachers have their favorites. However, in his case, you would never have known it in his classroom! We all loved him! I am remembering (I hope I am right) that he was also the ice cream man in the summer months. I seem to remember that. He will be missed! My deepest condolences to his family.

Mary Jane and girls, I was saddened to hear of Lou's passing. The news gave me pause to remember the many adventures we shared. It also reminded me that tomorrow may be too late to say I think I'll call my old friend to see how he is doing. I am sorry for your loss.
