Donna was the first friend I had in Silver Bay and she was always your friend, through thick and thin, even when you were having a bad day, crabbier than crabby she was there and always understood. Donna was ten years older than me and married ten years longer. We spent endless time together and some of the best was when Harry and I would go there in the evening and the guys would go in the basement and play pool and her and I would visit in the living room. Long about eleven o'clock us girls would go downstairs and beg them to quit and then we would have coffee and something good to eat, we took turns making desserts. I often threatened to take the car and go home as it would usually get past midnight but never did. We had endless picnics, lots of coffee parties, sneaked away to movies once in a while. She was truly the best friend a person could ask for. I was saddened to hear of her passing, I so wished I could have seen her once more. Donna Holmer
