From the many friends and colleagues of Steven's from the MN Chief Engineers Guild - our heartfelt condolences go out to his family. Steven served as Vice President, President, and most recently on the Board of Directors, and was a great friend and leader. This photo is from our 2018 Annual Conference where he won the Outstanding Service Award, which was very much deserved. We are saddened by his loss and will miss him greatly.

To Stevens family. I enjoyed working with Steven. He helped me promote education across public works, in particular with smart salting. He told me many times about his great crew and St.Cloud, that we was pushing smart salting as far and wide as he could to give his grandchildren a better world (he told me this frequently), he also pushed for me to meet Emma at the water plant. Well Steve, Emma is now on our advisory team for the Smart Salting Assessment tool. Steve continued to serve as an advisor to the Salt Symposium in his retirement. We can all learn something from him. Look out for the next generation, do something to help them and let people know that is the reason for some of your decisions. I am glad I had the chance to know and work with Steven. He made the world a better place! Connie Fortin - Fortin Consulting Inc.
