Obituary of Patrick Meneely
Patrick J. Meneely died peacefully on December 10th. He was 65. Although he lived in Wisconsin for the past few years, he was born and raised in Minneapolis. He was the seventh of nine children of Bob and Mary Meneely. His life’s travels and adventures sent him to many corners of this vast country, even living for three years in Honolulu, Hawaii. Along the way he made countless friends and mastered many skills.
One particular skill – an art really – was his passion. Patrick combined his love of hunting with his talent for carving and painting. He was a gifted wood carver and artist; his duck decoys won many awards and are coveted by collectors from around the country.
Pat knew woodworking, and he was always happiest at home carving decoys in his garage workshop. Living in northern Wisconsin kept him close to the wildlife and waterfowl he so loved to observe.
He leaves behind two children, Brian and Julia, as well as many loving members of the extended Meneely family.
Our dear Patrick has left us, but he remains forever in our hearts.
