Obituary of Susan Ann Bumann

Susan Ann (Mohr) Bumann went home to be with her savior on October 31, 2020, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Sue was born in Morris on June 27, 1957 to Lloyd and Shirley Mohr. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Morris Area High School in 1976. Sue married Jeff Bumann in 1978, and together they had two children, Joel and Melissa.

Sue lived her entire life in Morris and worked for the Stevens Community Medical Center for over 40 years. She loved her patients and her coworkers, and was known for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor (with a dash of mischief). Being loved by Sue meant a prank would come your way eventually!

Sue loved her family fiercely. She was tremendously proud of her children and daughter-in-law, and in the last year was able to meet her first grandchild, who was the light of her life. “Grandma” was perhaps the role she loved most! In recent years, she and Jeff enjoyed vacationing in Florida to escape the cold Minnesota winters.

Sue is survived by her husband, Jeff; son, Joel; daughter, Melissa; daughter-in-law, Kelley; granddaughter, Charlotte; and many others who will be forever changed by her presence in their lives. Her legacy will continue as we are challenged every day to love like she loved.

Per Sue’s wishes, a private family memorial will take place, with a public celebration of life to be scheduled in 2021. In lieu of flowers, Sue asked that donations be made to the Courage Cottage in Morris.
