My memories of Sue are such a part of my childhood and growing up that I can’t separate the two. She was the mother of my best friend and therefore spent countless hours transporting Melissa or me back and forth between each other’s houses. I joined so many road trips with the Bumanns that I was like an honorary third child. Sue would keep the cookie jar fully stocked and happily announce when another batch was underway. She loved her kids fiercely and made sure they knew it, even if it embarrassed them. Her heart was big and her home was open. She always made you feel you were important and that you mattered. Her legacy is all those little things, all those moments, and all the love that she shared. I’ll miss you, Sue.
