I met Lester the spring of 1994. He recently moved into the Four Seasons Apartments. I was always bumping into Lester when he was coming home from work when I was out with Dixie my dog after I got home from work. I was thinking to myself he probably thinks I'm stocking him, but always smiled and waved. Then, Sunday May 8th early afternoon I was waiting at the front door for friends to take out me out for my birthday brunch. Lester came from the laundry room on 1st floor with basket of cloths towards me and introduced himself. He gave my his phone number to go out. I did call and we went on our 1st date to the Holly dale golf course to hit some balls. I mentioned could use some practice with chipping and putting.
My first impression of him driving to Holly dale he was very quiet and shy, and unlike me out spoken and not quiet. I figured I would get some good golf pointers and dinner, but turned out to be the opposite. We grow very close and had lots of great times together. However, we went our separate ways 4 years later. I was always sad and has missed him after that.
Then, we meet 18 years later at Kohl's. I was working in jewelry and a associate asked me to help a customer find a perfumer. Lester recognized my voice and there he was at the counter in front of me. He wanted to get perfume for Christine for her birthday but sadly Kohl's did't carry it. However, we started talking and became close friends again. I will miss our wonderful conversations and especially spending lots of time outside with him grilling great dinners. He never sugar coated anything and told it like it was. I loved that most about him, because you knew he cared.
My dear love and friend, I will miss you Lester for the rest of my life until I see you again!
My prayers are with Nancy, Ralph and family. I'm truly sorry for your great loss. Renee
