I first knew Shirley through our Harris family reunions at the Ed Seifert farm in our elementary school years. Shirley was always one of the first to get to the top of the sand hill behind the barn.
Later on, her good friend, Mary Cobian became my wife, and Shirley married Gordy. Two subsequent memories: First, Shirley and Mary came to Camp McCoy to camp with Gordy and I, when we had the middle weekend off at Army Reserve summer camp. Second, we traveled to California with Shirley and Gordy in 2018 to visit their son, Dennis, in Santa Barbara, to celebrate both couples 50 years of married life, and to celebrate the ladies 70th birthday‘s.
Shirley, thanks for the good times, and the memories. Phil Betzel
