Dear family of Mr. Lohse, I am so sorry for your loss. Today while I was trying to learn about Tartan for my class reunion I came across one of my favorite teachers obituary. it happened to be Mr. Lohses. He was such a blessing. In the past but especially in this last year I have been trying to find him within social media but never could. I wasn’t sure if he would remember me since it was 25 years ago that I last saw him but I wanted him to know the difference he made in my life and what I had learned from him. I believe its very important for teachers especially to know how much they are appreciated. Mr. Lohse was one of a kind. He saw me through tough times with his patience and kindness. I hope he knows as much as he enjoyed teaching his students, his students enjoyed learning from him and appreciated his patience and kindness. I will always remember him with fond memories. Thank you for sharing him with his students. Again my heart and prayers go out to you.

Herb was one of the first folks I met at St. John. Welcoming with his personality and hospital with his time, I felt very much at home with him in that community. I’ll miss him, but confident he finished the race and will receive his just reward

As long as I have memories of Hinton Trail North (48 ? years), Herb will be among the warm and fuzzies.
A multitude of neighborhood milestones marked and celebrated but most fondly the back deck discussions, impromptu
suppers, wine tastings and prayers shared, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few
things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Master's happiness!' Matthew 25:23
The joy of the Lord is our strength. Surrounding the Lohse family in love and prayer,
Dee Mueller

What a privilege for me to have known Herb for nine years. He was a gentleman who loved the Lord and loved music. He was very supportive and involved in the music ministry at St. John Lutheran Church, for which I will always be grateful. I will miss his pleasant personality, exuberant singing, and his ringing in the handbell choir. May God grant comfort, peace and joy to the Lohse family as they celebrate his life while he lived on earth, and the eternal bliss he now is experiencing in heaven! In Christian love, Mary Jo Mehrl

I was sad today to hear of Herb's passing. I worked with Herb in District 622. He was always supportive and caring of others, whether it was students, fellow teachers, or colleagues. He worked passionately to better the lives of others, especially our youngsters who needed support to advance their career or gain educational opportunities. I will always have fond memories of Herb, who was my mentor, educational supporter, and friend for many of my early years as a teacher. He will be missed; my condolences to his family.
