Linda Swaggert

Obituary of Linda Hanson Swaggert

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Hanson Swaggert, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, announce her passing on December 6th, 2019. Born in Minneapolis on June 30, 1952, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Hanson, father, Clifford Hanson, and mother, Helen Hanson. Linda graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1970 and enjoyed a successful career at ADP. From her early 30’s onward, Linda faced serious medical challenges, yet she responded with purpose and vigor by developing deep medical knowledge, forming collaborative relationships with her medical teams, and approaching life with a zest and passion that defied her physical limitations. In 1990, she married the love of her life, Joel Swaggert, who became her selfless caregiver, truly fulfilling his marriage vows, “in sickness and in health.” Linda was devoted to her two canine companions, Bandit and Gracie, and loved spending time in nature, especially on the North Shore, Sanibel Island, and evenings on the porch with sunset walks around her neighborhood lake. She was a loving and caring sister and aunt, always interested in the lives and adventures of her extended family members, always inquiring about others, as well as a loyal friend. Her remarkable tenacity and life spirit will never be forgotten. Linda is survived by her husband Joel, brother Brad (Karen) Hanson, sister Julie (Russ) Magnuson, many brothers and sisters in law, and her adored nieces and nephews. Her family is deeply grateful for the decades of expert and compassionate care she received at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Memorials preferred to Helping Paws. Family gathering to be held in the spring of 2020 in a setting where Linda enjoyed nature.
