Obituary of Brandon Krogh

Brandon Paul Krogh, 70 of Naples FL, formally of Duluth, MN, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 9th at Avow hospice in Naples, FL. Brandon was born on February 22nd, 1949 in Hartford, CT to Lois Claire (Dickerman) Krogh and Paul Axel Krogh. He graduated high school in Glastonbury, CT in 1967, and graduated from Tuffs University of Engineering in Medford, MA in 1972.

Following college, Brandon met the love of his life, Joan Marie (Reider) Krogh, in Jacksonville, FL where he started his engineering career. Soon after, they moved to Duluth where Brandon started his 32 year career with Minnesota Power and Light Company (ALLETE) as a Chemical Engineer. He started his career in plant engineering in 1977 and ended his career working in the Environmental Affairs Department. Brandon loved to travel with his wife throughout Europe, South/Central America, and the Caribbean. Brandon had a passion for music, attended Woodstock in 1969, enjoyed Broadway plays, and was always singing to his family. Brandon loved to golf, bowl, and enjoyed curling at the Duluth Curling Club. Brandon was very involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities including coaching baseball and attending youth hockey and soccer games. Brandon spent many hours researching his family heritage and documenting his genealogical history. Most importantly he was a compassionate, loving, generous, hilarious man and always the biggest kid in the room.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Brandon was preceded in death by his mother Lois and his brother Derrick. Brandon is survived by his father Paul of Naples, FL, his wife Joni of 42 years, his son Matthew (Ashley) Krogh, daughter Jennifer (Aaron) Ramsey, and three beautiful grandchildren; Jonathan, Katherine, and Benjamin. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and close family friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Avow Hospice of Naples, FL or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. A celebration of life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave Duluth, MN on Wednesday, August 21st from 3-5pm.
