Just found out that Sandy had passed away. I worked with her for many years at Ramsey County. When my children were young we would bring them to Sandy's house for trick or treating.

I had the pleasure of knowing Sandy, "my sunshine gal" for about a year working at Ecumen. I took sometime off to finish school and I was heart broken to hear of her passing. She was a wonderful and tremendous lady...I always looked forward to seeing her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones. She was truly a GEM, and I love how she chose to have her ashes created into a Gemstone. That truly fits who she was! RIP Sunshine!!!

Sandy and Dennis were Our next door neighbors at Castlewood Townhomes for many years. We had many good times together. Plus, for years we worked together on the finance committee at Castlewood. A very memorable time we had with her and Dennis was when they took us out to dinner. Sandy would not tell us where we were going. They parked the car and had my late husband, Ed and I, walk down to the lake where there was a pontoon waiting for us. Sandy's son and grandson led us all onto the pontoon and we headed to the Lake House restaurant across the lake for dinner. On the way over, we enjoyed music and a little libation. The captain and 1st mate (Sandy's son and grandson) served us wearing the nautical shorts that Sandy had made for them just for this evening. They dropped us at the restaurant and picked us up after a delightful dinner. Sandy carefully planned all of the details for this very special evening. I am sure she is enjoying the recollection now. What a lovely surprise it was for us. They were wonderful neighbors and friends, and will always be remembered. --Josette

My grandma was an amazing woman and role model growing up. She was like a second mother to me, taught me how to sew, inspired my life for travel, showed me the value of education, and taught me to be strong and independent. One of my favourite memories of her was when my brother and I were Kids. We were visiting her in Arizona and on one of the days of our visit she told us to pack our bags for a road trip tomorrow but wouldn’t tell us where. The next day we were driving down the highway and she asked us “are you guys wondering where we are going?” She finally told us we were on the way to Disneyland! She had such a generous, spontaneous and kind spirit. I am so grateful for everything I have learned from her and experiences I have shared with her. Love you so much grams. I am going to miss you so much.
