My wife Lynn and I met Don and Pauline at the Inn at Cedar Crossing in Sturgeon Bay, WI. They were dining in the restaurant when I proposed to Lynn. Don and Pauline were staying at the Inn, as were we. The next morning we had breakfast with them. We learned they were on their anniversary trip. I believe they too were married in Door County. We spent the next 4 years sharing our anniversary with Don and his bride. Pauline called us their Innmates. The pinnacle of our relationship was getting to spend their Diamond anniversary with them. We met their family that weekend also. When we departed that day, Don said “give me a hug friend”. He will be missed greatly.
