It broke my heart when I read the obituary for Cynthia and Dana this week It is so very sad that loved ones can be taken from us in an instant.
For several years I co facilitated a support group with Cynthia at my place of work. Cynthia and I are close to the same age so we were able to connect on several levels. We would visit after group and got to know one another and spoke often about our families. It was so apparent how devoted Cynthia was to her children and grandchildren.
Cynthia had such warmth and empathy. Her beautiful smile made everyone feel at ease and she was such a gentle soul. And so personable! As I read about all the volunteer work she and Dana were involved in, it spoke to what a caring and giving couple they were.
My hope is that the family shares Cynthia and Dana's faith and that faith brings some comfort to the ones who loved and knew them. The way they lived their lives inspires me to give back and I will remember Cynthia's sweet smile.
