Obituary of Bruce Sorrells

After losing his battle with cancer, George “Bruce” Sorrells, 60, of North Minneapolis, North High School, North Commons, Hospitality House, and of Washburn High School class of ’76, died early Friday, Jan. 11, 2019. 

Bruce earned a BA in Education from Augsburg College and was a man of faith who devoted his life to education and mentoring and improving the lives of children, both in the Minneapolis School System and at Catholic Charities of St. Paul. 

Bruce is survived by his sons Reuben and Ramsey Sorrells, his former wife Rebecca Jean Doyle, his sister Jenny Deacon (Ron Deacon) and niece Heather Deacon. Bruce is preceded in death by his father, George Sorrells and mother, Naomi (Newsome) Sorrells.
