We're so sorry to hear of Daisy's passing. While she was not in the neighborhood anymore, she was in our thoughts often and will be dearly missed. Always enjoyed visiting with her - she never failed to share a great story or memory, and her quick wit usually left both of us laughing! We're truly blessed for having known her. Sending our thoughts & prayers to your family for comfort and peace.

To David & Michelle,
I was sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. She was one of our neighborhood moms on 36th & Clinton. She always was so welcoming and loving towards us kids in the neighborhood. I remember when she taught my twin sister, Jennifer how to ride a bike. She was so patient with her despite Jennifer's frustration with learning the mechanics of riding a bike. I appreciated her advice and her help when I was planning my wedding back in 1984. She was such a delight to talk with. I was so blessed to have spoken with her back in April of 2017. I feel bad that I didn't keep in touch with her after the last time I saw her, but feel blessed to have known her. May God provide His love, comfort and peace to you both and the rest of the family during your time of loss.
with love and many hugs,
Judy Hines-Bailey

Resolution of Respect for Daisy Ruth Young
They say this, too, shall pass,
They say grief eventually fades.
But those sayings are of little comfort
When you're living through such sad days.
They say that time heals all,
And this much we know is true.
So hang in there, our dearest sister Brea,
And together with God, we'll see this through.
We, the members of The Benjamin Banneker Association Incorporated, want your family to know that our hearts are with you as you gather to celebrate the life of God’s angel on earth, Daisy Ruth Young; grandmother of Brea Ratliff; the phenomenal and treasured President of The Benjamin Banneker Association.
WHEREAS, not only is this a loss of a devoted grandmother, but also a family pillar, a wise counselor and friend — a person who loved unconditionally and was always willing to sacrifice for the needs of her family.
WHEREAS the passing of our beloved sister is Heaven's gain and she leaves behind a painful void in your heart, we are encouraged and consoled in the word of God which says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we embrace the family because all of us have a common bond that will connect us for the rest of your lives. Brea, we cannot replace your beloved grandmother, Daisy but we will strive to demonstrate her love and support for you from this day forward.
To the family, we know your loss is deep, and your sorrow is great. We want you to know that you are not alone in this but surrounded by love from so many people who care about you and love from the Lord who is with you now and for every day to come. Please know that we share in your sorrow, and we are here help you walk through this difficult season.
Humbly submitted on this 3rd day of January 2019.
The Officers and Members of the Benjamin Banneker Association, Incorporated.
