Obituary of Jay Richard Rasula

10/1/61 – 9/24/2018

Age 56, joined the angels on September 24, 2018. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and devoted friend. He will be greatly missed for his smile, unconditional love, caring spirit and quick wit. He cherished being a father to his two children and would do anything for his family. He was a fun-loving Dad and a treasured husband.

He was an avid skier and lifelong instructor with the Blizzard Ski and Snowboard School. Jay spent most of his professional career in human resources where he enjoyed working with his colleagues and having a good time. He enjoyed time up north at the cabin, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings and proud season ticketholder.

Survived by his loving family: wife Linda; children Marissa and Jared; father Walter; sisters Liisa Rasula, Lynne Wingo, Lauren (Richard) Klement and several nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Pets; Sadie and Apollo. Preceded in death by mother Mary and grandparents.

Jay graduated from Hopkins Lindbergh High School in 1980 and Minnesota State University - Mankato in 1985. He was married in 1986.

Jay was the light of so many lives and the foundation of unconditional love and strength for his family. Jay shared his humor and positive spirit with all that knew him. He was simply one of a kind, a true gentleman. We will miss him dearly but rejoice that he is at peace with the Lord.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 1 pm at All Saints Lutheran Church, 15915 Excelsior Boulevard, Minnetonka, MN. Visitation 5-8 pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at church.
