Dear Mickelson Family,
I was searching for Joyce online at various sites, to inform her about my mom's recent death that occurred this past September. We held her services in La Mirada,California on Oct.2nd and Oct.3rd.
Sadly, but not surprising, given their age group,this obituary came up for your mom. I am sorry to hear of her passing.She was always so kind and engaging with us,even when we were small children.
My mom is Bobbi Enevold Braff.She graduated from both Duluth Central High School and Duluth State Teachers College,finishing up with a Nursing Degree from The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Our moms were friends for many years.When we came to Duluth from our home in California for vacation and family visits, we always stopped to visit your family. I have fond memories of our visits.
My dad, Wally, passed away at the young age of 69,in 1992.My mom continued to be active and engaged with travel,friends,family,and music.That included her yearly visits to Duluth.
Your mom painted a watercolor of Duluth,with the liftbridge in the background, for my parents for a wedding gift in 1947.Over the years,that beautiful painting has hung in many rooms throughout our home.It has been hanging in my mom's bedroom for the last 15 years or so.Right over her bed. She suffered a long,slow decline from Alzheimers.However, her sweet spirit and gentle demeanor remained.AND,the picture above her bed always brought her solace and smiles.
Both of our families were blessed to have had our moms for so long.Yet, no matter their age, we miss her so very much.I am sure you feel the same.
