Obituary of Ruth E. Ellis

Ruth E. (Loney) Ellis age 92, lifelong resident of Duluth passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday April 18, 2018. She was born April 14, 1926 in Duluth to James and Lois Loney. Ruth was a graduate of Duluth Central High School. Ruth will be remembered for her many years of service working at the Patty Cake Shop in Duluth, She enjoyed crafting, and ceramics which she shared with many in her family. She enjoyed playing cards and time spent with family and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her sons Steve and Jim Ellis. She is survived by sons Jeff (LaVonne) and Mike (Cathy) Ellis all of Duluth; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Steve's wife Cindy and Jim's wife Linda; sister, Betty Kingsley; many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at North Shore Estates for Ruth's care and kindness to her and her family, as well as Essentia Health-St Mary's Medical Center. Gathering of family and friends from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service Friday, May 18th at the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100. Grand Ave. Burial will immediately follow the reception at Park Hill Cemetery.
