Obituary of Thomas Patrick Joseph Neary

Thomas Patrick Joseph Sebastian Neary, Jr., 86, of Stone Lake, WI passed away peacefully June 14th, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born on November 21st, 1928 in Chicago, IL, to Thomas Patrick Neary Sr. and Anne Conneely Neary of County Mayo, Ireland. Tom retired as a Lieutenant. Firefighter with the Aurora Fire Department and worked as a Master Carpenter with the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters 705. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 32 years and devoted a lot of his time to caring for others and building lifelong friendships. Tom is survived by one son and four daughters, Thomas Glenn (Jenny) Neary of Godly, IL, Eve French of Roseville, CA, Cathleen “Cathi” (Ed) Lavan of Aurora, IL, Ellen Neary-Palmisano, of Hayward, WI, Stacy (Bob) Zagar of Volo, IL; eight grandchildren, Kristy Neary, Thomas “Sean” (Heather) Neary, Kathryn “Katie” Neary, James (Jennifer) Neary, Monica French, Jeff “JJ” French, Arin Neary, and Samantha Marsh; fourteen great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Joan Neary, sons Michael and Patrick Neary, grandchildren, Robert Neary and Ashley Palmisano, brothers Morgan and Michael Neary and sister, Anne Marie Ranft. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held in his honor on Saturday, June 20th, 2015. Hayward Serenity Club, 10399 S. Florida, Hayward, WI 54843; visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m; celebration of life will be at 2:30 p.m.; fellowship with family and friends to follow.
