She attended high school at the Academy of Holy Angels, graduating in 1933 at age 16; then attended St. Catherine’s College and the U of M. While in high school, she met her future husband John at a school dance. They married Aug. 21, 1936 and after three years moved to Richfield where they lived the rest of their lives. After her youngest child left home, Mary, at age 60, returned to college to earn her A.A. degree at Normandale Community College. Myers Beach, FL, making many new friends there and escaping the harsh Minnesota winters. During her final chapter of life, she enjoyed making even more new friends when she lived in the Oaks Apartments located in the “shadow” of her beloved Holy Angels.
