Obituary of C.J. Chelstrom

C.J. "Tim" Chelstrom, 71, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 1, 2015, surrounded by his family. Tim was born in Duluth March 5, 1944, to Martin and Edna Chelstrom. He was a graduate of Morgan Park High School, after which he joined the U.S. Navy and served for five years. On Sept. 12, 1964, he was united in marriage to Sandra Pederson. Tim worked in accounting/purchasing for Reserve Mining, Zalk-Josephs, ME Global and the city of Duluth. He owned and operated the Congress Bar with his wife for several years. Tim enjoyed cooking and shared his "cuisine" with his family and friends. He loved visits from his grandchildren. If he could run an errand for you or help in any way, he was glad to do it. Spending time with his pets, Socks and Boots, gave him much joy. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Edward Johnson; brother D. Thomas Chelstrom; and sisters-in law Sue Chelstrom and Gloria Chelstrom. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; children Timothy (Julie) Chelstrom of Duluth and Kris Bresnahan of Superior; grandchildren Cody, Brody, Brooke, Mason, Mandy, Shelby and Caden; brothers Dennis Chelstrom, Dick Chelstrom, Ken (Norma) Johnson and Robert (Lisa) Johnson; sisters Margo (Roland) Gigliotti and Pam Perpich; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. We are grateful for his I.C.U. hospice teams and all involved with Tim's care. Tim will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
