Obituary of Leone Marie Leighton

Leone Marie (Bieker) age 96, of Waconia, passed away peacefully Friday night April 20, 2018. Preceded in death by parents Otto Bieker, Bernadine (Muenchrath) Bieker, husband Robert E Leighton, son Michael (1977) and many other family members. She will be deeply missed by her loving family, son Steve & wife Donna, daughter Patricia & Dick, son Tim & Janelle, son Kevin & wife Kathy, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. Leone was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound, MN. She did much volunteer work with the Church over her many years (58 years) as a member. Her primary focus during her younger years was to raise a family of 5 children. She was the best Mom a kid could ever ask for…providing for the needs of all. Many years were spent with the neighboring kids hiking and camping along the North Shore of Lake Superior and other areas out west. Growing up on Carmen’s Bay of Lake Minnetonka provided an atmosphere of water sports and general Lake fun that most kids only dream about. She, along with Bob, especially loved children and supported the education of several children in Mexico through the Ninos Adelante Organization. Memorials preferred to Friends of Ninos Adelante, P.O. Box 1624 Sonoma, CA. 95476-1624. Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
