Obituary of Shirelle Edwards
Shirelle Dionne Edwards, died unexpectedly on July 6, 2015 at the age of 43 while at home. She is preceded in death by Shawn Edwards, Willie Mae Calicutt and John Brown.
Shirelle Dionne Edwards is survived by her Mother Corliss Edwards and Father Carl Fly. Also survived by her sisters, Toya Stripling, (Shaun Stripling), Tadosha Cannon, and Carla Brinkley. Godson, Cairo Dantzler; Brother, Carlton Haywood and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Shirelle was born and grew up on the south side of Chicago, Illinois on May 24, 1972. She was adored Granddaughter of Willie Mae Calicutt on her father's side of the family and John Brown on her mother's side of the family. Both Grand parents preceded her in death. As well as her brother Shawn Edwards. She was briefly married, but the union ended in divorce with no children. Shirelle grew up in an extended loving family environment.
Her family moved to Minnesota when she was twelve years of age. While in Minnesota, she attended Sanford Middle School, graduated from Henry High School, and got her undergraduate degree from Metropolitan State University. Shirelle, was an avid reader and a health-food enthusiast. After graduating from college, she worked briefly for Grant Thornton.
She moved to Chicago, Illinois where she lived with her Aunt Sterma for a brief period of time. She got a job with McKinsey & Company at the time of her death she was a Executive Assistant. Shirelle, professed her faith in Christ at an early age; which continued throughout her life.
In Minnesota she attended Speak The Word Church with Pastor Randy Morris. In Chicago, she attended New Life Covenant under Pastor John Hanna. Her faith in God never wavered all the way up until her death. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
