Obituary of Laura M. Wegner

Laura M. Wegner, age 87, of Edina past away unexpectedly July 9, 2015 following surgery, surrounded by family. She was born January 21, 1928 to Martha and Henry Elmhorst in Granton Wisconsin. She was a beautiful and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and six sisters, son Richard (infant) and daughter Betty (infant) - her two angels. Survived by husband Vernon her true soulmate of almost 70 years, son Roger (Carol), granddaughter Lisa Bush (Bill), grandson Michael, granddaughter Kristen Urbina (Jaime), great grandchildren Zachary, Sydney, Kayleigh, Amaya, Aidan, Madison, and Cruz and many relatives and friends. She was a caring, positive person who made the best of every situation, having grown up on a farm in Granton, Wisconsin during the depression. Laura and Vern were passionate about ballroom dancing, winning numerous competition trophies as they travelled around the country and overseas. She loved to cook, bake, arrange flowers, create ceramic pieces and needlepoint and spend time with her family. She was the family communicator, writing letters and staying in touch with her many relatives. She will be deeply missed by everyone that she touched. You will always be in our hearts as you go to be with your two angels. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Berea Lutheran Church, 7538 Emerson Avenue S, Richfield, MN 55423.
