Obituary of Mary Antoinette Molenaar

Mary would be most gratified to be remembered as a humanitarian. Her passions included: lifelong pianist, vocalist, published poet, classical music, theatre and drama, artist, medicine and career as a client advocate for the homeless and impoverished human beings. Mary served on numerous boards promoting human welfare but above all, she gave love to all she encountered. Mary was born during the depression era in Aitkin, Minnesota. After a long battle with Alzheimers, at age 84, Mary passed away peacefully at NC Little Hospice on Friday, July 10 with family at her side. Preceded in death by parents, Myrtle Violet Rousu and Clifford James Bartosh; and daughter, Kathleen Rose O'Rourke. Survived by two sisters, Carole Marlene Goldstein (Bud) of Shoreview, MN and Patti Gayle Bucher (Bob) of Green Valley, AZ; half brother, James M. Bartosh of Wenatche, WA; five children, Dr. Michael John Lacktorin of Yamanashi, Japan, Diane Marie Eldredge (Tully - her son from another mother) of Edina, MN, Karla Jean Lacktorin of Bellingham, WA, Theresa Kay Lacktorin of Renton, WA, and Jon Bryan Lacktorin (Traci) of Lake Tapps, WA; twelve grandchildren, Dawnn Marie Eldredge, Anne Marie Lacktorin, Nina Inoue, Miguel Torres (Heather), Shigeru Inoue, Niki Jean Janicki (Robert), Jonathan Lewis Clemmons, Jade Elise Lacktorin, Sebastian Allen Ford, Jazmine Marie Ford, Connor Jon Lacktorin, and Tylor Denton Lacktorin; six great-grandchildren, Jack Green, Gavin Tierney, Pollux Torres, Willem Janicki, Luke Willette and Ethan Tierney. Visitation/Reception 2-4 pm, and memorial service at 4 pm, on Thursday, July 16, at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina, MN 55435 (952-924-4100). Memorials preferred to NC Little Hospice, littlehospice.org, in honor of Mary Molenaar.
