Obituary of Bruce Buchanan

Bruce "Pat" Buchanan, 87, of Duluth, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015 under the care of his family and Essentia Hospice. Pat was born in St. Paul, on Aug. 24, 1927 to Sidney and Dorothy (Haggerty) Buchanan. He served his country honorably during World War II. The majority of his career was spent working for the U.S. Postal Service. He retired in December of 1989. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Samantha. Pat is survived by his wife Betty; children, Allen (Jackie) Michael, Brenda (Clyde) Royer, Laurie (Tony) Fillman, Scott (Jacki), Bruce (Dawn) and Mary (Al); 27 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Nancy (John) Fellbaum; brother Sid Buchanan; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends including special friend Michael Nolan and faithful dog Brandy. A special thank you to the hospice staff at Essentia (St. Mary's) Health and physicians Dr. Glickstein, Dr. Dornfeldt and Dr. Sather. GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth.
