Obituary of Nannette Margaret Rust

Nanette Margaret Rust, 58, of Hermantown, MN passed away on Tuesday July 14th, 2015 in the arms of her loving family from complications due to Scleroderma. Nanette was born in Duluth, MN on June 24th, 1957 to Joseph and Pearl Venier. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1975. Paul and Nanette were married August 7th and spent 35 wonderful years together. Together, they raised three perfect children, who blessed her with her pride and joys, her 7 grandchildren. She worked at various jobs over the years, spent most as a homemaker, worked many years at Dey Distributing, and most recently, her favorite job of all, was becoming a stay-at-home Nana. Nanette loved fishing, camping, reading, collecting Fiestaware, gardening, traveling through Europe, raising chickens, but most of all, spending her time with her beloved family. Nanette is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Venier, Sr., mother-in-law, Dorothy Rust, father-in-law, John Rust, and sister-in-law Linda Rust. Nanette is survived by her husband, Paul, son, Tim (Betsy) Rust, daughters Lia (Joe) Dardis, and Tessa (Joe) Melquist. Grandchildren, Bo, Sawyer, Lyla, Drake, Finley, Kennedy, and baby Girl Melquist due next month. She is also survived by her mother, Pearl Venier, sisters, Judy (Ted) Yehle, Dianna (Ken) Oliver, Debbie (Dick) Meyer, brothers Bernie Venier and Joseph Venier, Jr. Nanette was the most loving, caring and supporting Wife, Mom, Nana, Sister, Aunt and friend a family could have. She leaves us with a huge ache in our hearts, wonderful memories and the knowledge we will all hold her again. The family would like to give thanks to the medical staff at Mayo Clinic and Essentia Health ICU staff. Cremation Society of Minnesota assisted the family with arrangements. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. On Saturday July 18th at St. Lawrence Catholic Church (2410 Morris Thomas Road Duluth, MN) officiated by Father Fider. A gathering of family and friends will take place prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. at St.Lawrence Catholic Church.
