Obituary of Patricia Irene Rogness
Patricia I. Rogness, age 75, of Minneapolis, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, surrounded by the love of her family and the excellent care of the Lyngblomsten Care Center community.
Pat was born on October 6, 1939, at home in Chicago, IL. She survived her painful childhood by clinging to the love of her paternal grandfather, Charles F. Logan, a devotion she wholeheartedly returned. After graduating from Rockford (IL) High School, Pat moved to Minneapolis where she met Stephen Rogness through mutual friends. The two were married in 1961 and raised two daughters primarily in the Twin Cities. They later divorced.
Pat freely shared her many loves with her children and grandchildren, including books, dogs, the North Shore, rocks (especially snowflake obsidian), turtles, nature, dark chocolate, Jim Brandenburg’s photography, and Coca Cola. She deeply loved her sisters Carol and Nan, caring for both at the end of their lives with devotion.
Pat is survived by her three grandchildren: Nathaniel Hasse, and Madeline and Bronwyn McDermott (the brightest lights of her life); her daughters Lisa (Tim) McDermott of Northfield and Mary (Jeff) Hasse of Minneapolis; her brothers Bill (Ophelia) and Jim (Miriam) Anderson; her sisters-in-law Pauline and Nancy Anderson; other family members, friends and neighbors. She was welcomed into the healing, freedom and joy of Heaven by her sisters Carol, Nancy, and Marilyn; her brothers Jack and Bob; and her beloved pets Pasha, Missy, Max and Muffin.
A private family service will be held on the North Shore in the fall. Memorials are preferred to Mt. Olivet Rolling Acres, 18986 Lake Drive East, Chanhassen, MN 55317 or Lyngblomsten, 1415 Almond Ave W, St Paul, MN 55108.
