Obituary of Leota L. Axtell

Leota L. Axtell Age 101, from St. Paul, MN. She was a life-long volunteer for many organizations. Always wanting to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable, she was a greeter at her church for many years. She was the welcoming person at Oak Meadows in Oakdale when she resided there. For the past 2 years she has lived at Walker Methodist Care Suites in Edina, MN. Leota is survived by her daughters: Judith (John) DeGonda, their children and grandchildren and Linda (Frank) Weisgram, their children and grandchildren. Leota and Les, her dear husband of 70 years loved to dance, and we suspect they are dancing once again in heaven. Our heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and staff at Walker Methodist Care Suites, and the Allina Hospice nurses and caregivers. A memorial service will be held Sat., July 25th at 2 p.m., Hazel Park Congregational UCC, 1833 E. Minnehaha Ave., St. Paul. Fellowship and refreshments to follow.
