Obituary of Betty A. Leahy

May 13, 1920 - July 27, 2015 Betty Ann Carter Leahy was born May 13, 1920 and died on July 27, 2015 at the age of 95. Her eldest grandson, Michael Talbot, was with Betty during her final days. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a woman of faith. Born to Clinton and Mildred Carter, Betty was raised in St. Paul. Betty attended St. Mark's Elementary School, St. Joseph's Academy and St. Catherine College. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Loyal J Leahy whom she married on April 25, 1942. After living in St. Paul until 1970, the Leahys moved to Burnsville. Betty enjoyed playing bridge, entertaining (she was a wonderful cook!), boating on Lake Superior, and spending time with her family. She also loved to help others and was an avid volunteer with Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts, at her church, in her kids' schools and in a hospital gift shop. She is survived by her children Betsy Stein (Peter), Michael Leahy (Maggie), Thomas Leahy and Carol Anklan, and by 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. There will be a service Friday, August 21 at Nativity Church, 1900 Wellesley Ave, St. Paul at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice .
