Obituary of Frank Mathew Crotty

Frank Mathew Crotty, Jr, 75, of Duluth, son of Frank Crotty, Sr and Mary Stojevich Crotty, died on April 24, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital. Frank was born January 7, 1943 in Duluth. He worked for 26 years for the Duluth Transit Authority. Following the death of his father, Frank operated the Kom On Inn, his family's business. In 1986 Frank married Evelyn Picconatto and together they enjoyed raising golden retrievers and cocker spaniels, and fishing and bird hunting together. In addition to his wife, Evelyn, Frank is survived by three children from a previous marriage-James (Marianne), Debbie (Mike), and Cathy (Jeff) and 10 grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his sister, Mary Crotty (Tom) Olseth; a brother, David (Nancy) Crotty; brothers-in-law John (Judy) Picconatto, Alvin (Darlene) Picconatto and William (Julie) Picconatto; and sisters-in-law Pamela Crotty, Mary (Jan) Wenger, Angeline (Robert) Carlson, Jo (Michael) Hogan; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service honoring Frank will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2018 with a visitation from 2:00pm-3:00pm and a 3:00pm service at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth. Memorials are preferred to the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, of which Frank had been a member, or to the Duluth Police Department K-9 unit to honor his love of dogs and their service in police work.
