Obituary of Janet M. Salzer
Salzer, Janet Marie 60. Died July 28, 2015 following an eight year battle with cancer. Just four months earlier, Jan's life partner, soulmate and significant other of 30 years, Emma Eskelson, died. She will be greeted in heaven by Emma, parents, Bertha and Michael, and infant twin, Janice. Survived by siblings: Catherine (Robert) Broady, Elizabeth (Darryl) Bellin, Ann (Kevin) Bellin, Michael (Marcy) Salzer, and Paul (Ann) Salzer; Emma's siblings: Cynthia (Alan) Meyer, Thomas (Leslie) Eskelson, Theresa Scott, and Stephen (Marlene) Eskelson; many nieces and nephews, friends and her dog, Lilly. Born in Minneapolis, MN. Jan received her BA in Theology from the College of St Benedict. She lived life doing justice, loving mercy and walking humbly with her God. Jan served the community as an educator and the house manager at a shelter for women and children. A celebration of Jan's life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 15, at Spirit of St. Stephens Catholic Community, 2201 First Ave S, Mpls, MN, 55404. Visitation one hour prior to service. Lunch follows the service. Interment at St. Benedict's Monastery Cemetery, St. Joseph, MN at 3:30. Memorials to Spirit of St. Stephen's, St Benedict's Monastery or MN Angel Foundation.
