Vincent Huntley

Obituary of Vincent Everett Huntley

Vincent Everett Huntley, age 55, of Hoffman, passed away July 31, 2015, after his third battle with cancer. He peacefully passed at his home, with his children at his side. Vince was born on January 4, 1960 to Bob and Peggy Huntley at the Stevens County Hospital in Morris. He was baptized at St. Petri Church in Cyrus and confirmed at Solem Church in rural Kensington. He graduated from Hoffman High School in 1978. He was married to Donna Helberg of Kensington on July 1, 1978 and of this union, two children were born: Robert Vincent and Sarah Donna. Vince was a very dedicated employee at Hapco in Hoffman for the majority of his life. He took great pride in creating jobs in the Hoffman community. After Hapco closed, Vince went back to his passion of working on and running heavy equipment. Vince was also a dedicated member of the Hoffman Fire Department for many years. From a very young age, Vince was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He was never afraid to be the first person to drive on the ice. He taught many how to enjoy and share his love of the outdoors. There wasn't a lake around that he couldn't catch fish on. Vince always enjoyed a good practical joke and he had a quick-witted sense of humor. Vince is survived by his son, Bert (Heidi) Huntley and their children, Quinn, Sidney, Andrew and Max of Hoffman, daughter, Sarah (Aaron) Lindquist and their children, Abbi, Landyn, Anyah, Grant and Olivia of Hoffman; his parents, Bob and Peggy of Hoffman; sisters, Char and Lori; and brothers, Justin and Stuart. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 2 p.m. at Solem Church in rural Kensington. Fellowship and refreshments will follow the service. The family prefers no flowers.
