Gloria Christensen

Obituary of Gloria Ann Christensen

Gloria Ann Christensen with her angel face and bright eyes, arrived to the awaiting arms of Charles and Ann Roach, in Duluth, on May 15, 1925. Gloria left earth peacefully 90 years later before sunrise on the wings of her guardian angels, Aug. 4, 2015 in Duluth. Gloria had two great loves in her lifetime. She "tied the knot" with Donald Beaulieu, Gunner's Mate, 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy. This voyage brought their little sailor, daughter Patricia "Patty". Love of baseball might have been the reason for her "catch" Jack Christensen. Their winning game scored two homeruns. First was daughter (Ann "Annie"); second was their son Jack. Gloria was part Doris Day mixed with a little Audrey Hepburn; she had "style". Gloria loved the out of doors, enjoying archery, fishing, golfing and collecting agates. Gloria was the "hostess with the mostess" and turned ANY event into something special. She loved holidays and family gatherings. Gloria was the perfect housekeeper. You could hear Tony and Frank sing from the vinyl, while Gloria worked around the house or enjoyed the sun. Gloria lived in Duluth, MN most of her life; she spent 16 years in Willmar, MN from 1950 - 1966. She was involved in the Elks/Does Lodge. Gloria had a special place in her heart for each and every one of us. After a courageous bout with cancer, Gloria is in heaven getting some long over due pampering and is now reunited with family and friends she missed. Gloria is preceded in death by parents, Charles and Ann Roach; husbands Donald Beaulieu and Jack Christensen; brother Charles "Bud" Roach; grandson Mathew and great-grandchild Lorissa. Gloria is survived by children: Mrs. Daniel Setterberg (Patricia) (Texas), Mrs. Dean Baker (Annie) (Alaska) and Mr. Jack Christensen (Minnesota); grandchildren: Eric Setterberg, Jana Iwanicki, Ron Baker, Angela Green, Raydean Roland, Dawn Muncy, Michelle Hendrickson, Charles Christensen, Karen Christensen, Noah Christensen and Elizabeth Christensen; great-grandchildren: Christopher, Brian, Andrew, Alyx, Chance, Ian, Kayla, Alexis, Austin, Jasper, Brooklyn, Sophia, Dylon, Drew, Melody, Hayden, Haley and Sebashtion; nieces: Mrs. Wayne (Julie) Fairchild, Mrs. Ray (Sue) Hanson and nephew: Paul Roach. Her family thanks everyone who supported Gloria with love, friendship, time and help from the bottom of their hearts. They want to thank a "special" person Gloria was very fond of, Mrs. Steve (Val) Iverson-Lundberg. The Family is honoring her wish not to have a funeral or celebration of life.
