Obituary of Daniel W. Carlson
Daniel W. Carlson 62, of Clover Valley, Minn., passed away Aug 12, 2015 following a short illness, surrounded by his family at home.
Dan was born Jan. 18, 1953 in Two Harbors to the late Carl Melvin and Mary Carlson.
He graduated from Clover Valley High School. Dan served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Dan worked in the woods most of his adult life. In 1987 he returned to the family homestead in Clover Valley with his wife Sharon. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by one brother Ron, and one step-daughter Susie Schmitt.
Those who loved and shared his life are: his wife Sharon; two daughters Raechel and Stevie Rae; step-son Darren (Lindsey) Schmitt; three granddaughters Jessica Onnen, Aryana Buck, Roxanne Rouleau-Buck; four great-grandchildren; four sisters Marianne (Wally) Goulet, Serene (Bill) Chapman, Betty, Barb (Jeff) Pierson; three brothers Bill (Linda), Gary, Glen (Sandra) Carlson; and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew him.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Monday Aug. 17, in the Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the Cremation Society.
