Obituary of John J. Avery

John J. Avery, age 80, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Southview Acres Care Center in St. Paul, MN. John was born June 9th, 1937, in Milwaukee, WI. John is survived by six children, Robert (Lisa) Avery of Sevierville, TN., Stephen (Sandy) Avery of Cranberry, PA., Kurtis (Patricia) Trede of Chicago, IL., Kelly Udell of Kaukauna, WI., Jonathan (Kathy) Avery of Lakeville, MN., Joel Avery of Green Lake, WI.; thirteen grandchildren, Chance, Riley, Lexie, Sophia, Olivia, John, Jude, Hannah, Logan, Clara, Ella, Colin, Will, and one great grandchild; Rylee Kay. John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy, his sister Jackie, and his brother-in-law Jack Tills. John had a passion for playing cards, listening to the oldies, the Green Bay Packers, eating out, socializing, making people laugh, and spending time with his family. If you asked him how he was doing he would always reply with “just getting taller, younger, and better looking.” John loved Green Lake and the people that live there. His upbeat personality and genuine kindness to others will be greatly missed. Per John's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for John will be held on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018, at the American Legion Post 306 in Green Lake, WI. A social hour will take place from 4-5pm, followed by a brief service of remembrance, and then a meal. Any and all those who would like to honor John’s life are welcome to attend.
