Obituary of Darla “Dee” Mathews

Mathews, Darla “Dee” (née Thorp) After a protracted battle with Leukemia, Dee passed away peacefully on August 17, 2015 at Woodlyn Heights Care Center in Inver Grove Heights, MN at the age of 61. Darla was born on January 12, 1954 in Sioux City, IA. She attended elementary school in Leeds, IA, moved to Minnesota with family, and graduated from Burnsville High School. Darla carried good morals and a strong work ethic, even took on volunteer work until too physically weak. She was a caring mother, and took great pride in her children. Darla was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Beverly Thorp; and her brother, Terry. Darla is survived by her partner, Robert Coss; her brother, Walter; her son, Kyle Korum; her daughter, Kasi Korum; and her granddaughter, Heavyn Harris. A memorial service will be held at Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina, MN 55435 at 2:00pm on Sun., August 23, 2015. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
