Obituary of Bertil G. Larson

Bertil G. "Bart" Larson of Duluth passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 at the age of 88. He and his wife Lois celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary June 15, 2015. He was born on July 19, 1927 in Hibbing Minn. Bart attended Hibbing High School and served in the Navy during World War II. Upon returning from the war, he attended the University of Minnesota Duluth. He then worked at Clyde Iron Works where he met Lois and later started a general contracting business which they ran together for 50 years in Duluth. Their business was recipient of several design awards for buildings locally constructed. Bart enjoyed being in nature, camping and fishing. He was very active in several organizations including TW Hugo Masonic Lodge (Past Master), The AAD Temple Shrine, Scottish Rite, York Rite (High Priest) and Dale Carnegie (past instructor). Bart is predeceased by his parents, Gunnar and Sigrid Larson; his brother, Leonard Larson; his sister Edna Sella and her son Jim Sella. Bart is lovingly remembered by his wife Lois; daughter Cathy, and son-in-law, Rick Meyers (and his daughters Jeneve and Kristin); brother-in-law Louis Sella and nieces/nephews from his family (Jeffrey, Sandra and Sue) and nieces/nephews from Lois' family (Sandy, Jim, Bob and Susie) and their children. VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 in Glen Avon Presbyterian Church, 2105 Woodland Avenue, Duluth.
