Obituary of Anne Thorstenson
Anne Thorstenson, 57, of Duluth, died peacefully on Friday, Aug. 21, hands held by her loving husband and son.
Anne has left us too early, but like a meteor against a cold night's sky, she burned bright and dazzled. Anne lived and loved and fought and cooked and cared for everyone as best as she could. She loved to cook, and she taught us that there is no such thing as too much garlic. A month before she passed, she said "When I cook for other people, I feel love for God, and love for my family and my friends. That is what cooking is about for me."
Anne also loved rock music, from the Stones to CSNY, to Frampton. Anne loved her husband, the love of her life, Harold. She loved her little Lulu, and Anne loved and was so very proud of her son, Sam and his wife Emily. She loved her baby granddaughter Eva, whom she had waited for, for so long. Eva lights up any room with a smile she inherited from her grandma. Anne loved her friends, who were her family. Even if Anne didn't know you yet, Anne already loved you.
She was preceded in death by parents, Dayton and Ellenor; and brother, Lenny.
She is survived by her husband, Harold and his daughters, Cheryl, Stacay, Dawn, and Jeri; her brother John; her only son Sam (Emily), and her precious granddaughter Eva, whom she loved more than life.
VISITATION: 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service Thursday, Aug. 27, in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., 218-624-5200, with a reception at the Owls Club of Duluth to follow.
Flowers are welcome; Anne loved flowers, especially pansies.
