Obituary of James Curry
James "Jim" Curry, 95, passed away on Aug. 23, 2015 in Two Harbors, Minn.
He was born in Nekoma, N.D. on Sept. 18, 1919 the son of Allen and Susan Curry.
James worked on his dad's farm until joining the CCC's. He then was drafted into the Army. He served in World War II as a medical technician also driving ambulance and taking care of the wounded. After his discharge he moved to Duluth, where he married Elizabeth Gertrude (Eidum) Nurmi on Nov. 12, 1949. James worked at the cement plant for a while then moved to Homecroft and worked for the cook home farming until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.
James is survived by his wife Elizabeth; two sons, Bob (Anne) Curry and Bill (Dana) Curry; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 in First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth.
