Obituary of Evelyn L. Mueller

Evelyn L. Mueller, 89, of Mounds View, MN died Sunday, August 23, 2015 surrounded by her children. Evelyn was born July 20, 1926 to Oscar and Erma Hanson, in Sisseton, SD. She graduated from Sisseton High School. Evelyn then attended St. Andrews School of Nursing in Minneapolis and graduated as a registered nurse. She spent her career working as an industrial nurse for Honeywell. On July 2, 1949 she married her husband, Richard Mueller and together they had three daughters. In 1969 they moved to a farm east of Center City where they raised their family. In 1993 Dick and Evelyn moved to Danbury, WI and after Dick’s death Evelyn moved to Milltown, WI and then to Mounds View, MN. In every community where she lived she was active in her church and in other groups and organizations. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, brothers Willis and Wallace Hanson and sisters Arlene Elliott and Marilyn Odland. She is survived by daughters Lynn (Karel) Schaap of Elk River, MN, Jenny (Tim) Holt of Taylors Falls, MN and Mary (Chris Barker) Mueller of Benicia, CA; 9 grandchildren-Jeremiah (Sarah) Schaap, Nathan (Heather Brynteson) Schaap, Benjamin (Krystal) Schaap, Zachariah (Jai Buikema) Schaap, Janneke (Jared Hoffman) Schaap, Gabriel (Brienna) Schaap, Jenna (Adam) Wojcik, Aaron Holt and Laura Holt; 8 great-grandchildren; sister Wylma Kaven, brother Jim Hanson, many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Bert. Visitation: Friday, August 28, 5-8pm at Grandstrand Funeral Home-Lindstrom. Memorial service: Saturday, August 29, 11am at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, Mounds View, MN. Visitation 2 hours prior to service at church. Private family interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials preferred to Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, Mounds View, MN, the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
