Obituary of Gerald Ronald Schnorr

Gerald Ronald Schnorr, 56, passed away in his home on Sept. 2, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with avium disease. He was born in Duluth on Sept. 10, 1958, to Glenn and Joan A (Young) Schnorr. Jerry was a roofer and painter in the Twin Ports and North Carolina. He also worked in the manufacturing and food industries and was a contractor in the Duluth area. Jerry was a talented landscaper and enjoyed gardening. He was also good at small engine repair and he loved to watch wrestling. He loved all of the children in the family and he had a kindness and generosity for people less fortunate. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Glenn A. Schnorr, and grandparents, Bill and Leila Schnorr and Ronald and Geraldine Young. Jerry is survived by his mother, Joan A. (Young) Teschner, Hermantown; daughters, Joni McDaniel, Royalton, Minn., Belinda (Chris) Terrell, Indiana, and Jordyn Boyce, Rochester, Minn.; son, Jared Jarome, Duluth; grandchildren, Jaimy, Wyatt, Rayna, Kami, Jazman and Jaylynn; brothers, Tony Schnorr, Hermantown, and John (Natasha) Schnorr, Proctor; sister, Janine (Randall) Holder, Duluth; and nine nieces, 12 nephews, many uncles, aunts and cousins; and Jerry's special friend, Linda Brown, thank you for your endless love. The family would like to recognize and extend a very heartfelt thank you to Jerry's caregivers, Nancy, Kristi, Sara and Chaplain Dave, the hospice staff at Essentia Health, the doctors and all others who extended and gave their love, support and care. The family is honoring Jerry's wish to not have a funeral. A small Celebration of Life for close family and friends will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Jerry's birthday, Thursday, Sept. 10, at the homestead.
