Obituary of Jerome Henry Hinnenkamp

Jerome Henry Hinnenkamp, 90, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at Essentia Health Hospital with his family around him. He was born June 7, 1925 to Henry Hinnenkamp and Gertrude Hiltner in Gary New Duluth, Minn. Jerome served in the U.S. Navy CB Division World War II from 1943-45. His rank was Petty Officer 3rd Class and was stationed in Bermuda. He worked for United States Steel Company for 32 years and for the Voyager Bus Company as an aide for the City of Duluth. Jerome was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the Steel Workers Union. Jerome is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, and his son Scott. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy (Blanchette); sons Dennis (Dorothy) Hinnenkamp, James (Genevieve) Hinnenkamp both of Duluth; daughters Lois Treb of Delano, Minn., Nancy (Martin) Santti of Duluth; daughter-in-law Carol of Wis.; five grandchildren; five step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, with a visitation one hour prior.
