Obituary of Steven Arnold Saari
Steven Arnold Saari, 62, of Maple, died Friday Sept. 11, 2015 at Superior Health and Rehab (formerly known as St Francis in the Park).
He was born Dec. 4, 1952 in Superior, Wis.
Steven graduated from Northwestern High School in 1971. After high school he joined the Wisconsin National Guard where he proudly served 10 years. He also held several jobs which included years at Hood Equipment, Maple Feed Mill, and Frasier Shipyard. Steven enjoyed hunting and steelhead fishing on the Brule River.
He was a member of the Cloverland Bible Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Lila Saari and brother David Saari.
He is survived by his son Eric (Carrie) Saari; daughter Nicole (Matt Martin) Horst and grandchildren David Horst and Emma Saari all of Cloverland; brothers Donald (Nadi) Saari of Barnes, Brian (Toni) Saari of Barnes, Duane (Jody) Saari of Halliday, N.D.; sister Barb (Gene) Follis of Brule, and sister-in-law Alice Saari; longtime friend Elsa Lundberg of Lake Nebagamon.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Superior Health and Rehab, Essentia Hospice and the Cremation Society of Minnesota, Duluth.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday Sept. 16, in the Cloverland Bible Baptist Church on Highway 13 in Cloverland. Pastor Chuck Ells officiating. Everyone is invited to a luncheon in the Maple Community Center immediately following the church service.
