Obituary of Lloyd Alfred Ditlefsen

DITLEFSEN, Lloyd Alfred, age 97, of Maple Grove, born April 20, 1918 in Blooming Prairie and passed away on September 17, 2015. Preceded in death by wife, Arlene Inez Ditlefsen; parents, Alfred and Tillie Ditlefsen; brothers, Earl and Donald Ditlefsen; sister, Vivian Liescher. Survived by daughter, Susan (Todd) Stenson of Golden Valley, son, David (Andrea) Ditlefsen of Osseo; grandchildren, Robert Hall, Todd Stenson and Nikita Ditlefsen; great grandchildren, Coltin and Cloe Hall; sister, Marlene Coleman; many relatives and friends. Loving Husband, Father, and Grampa who will be greatly missed by family and friends. Lloyd and Arlene moved to Maple Grove in 1960 when Maple Grove was a farming community. They lived there for 54 years. Lloyd was a carpenter and drywall contractor. Lloyd loved sports, auctions, collecting antiques, gardening and traveling. He was a WWII Vet with the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division. He served in Ireland, England, North Africa, and Italy. Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 710 E. Broadway, Osseo, MN 55369 with visitation 1 hour prior to service. The family wants to especially thank the staff at Good Samaritan in New Hope for their loving care of both Lloyd and Arlene.
