Obituary of Dale Chris Potthast

Dale Chris Potthast age 74 died Thursday May 3, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. Dale was born June 22, 1943 to parents Violet and Chris Potthast in Duluth, MN. Dale enlisted in the Navy in 1962 following high school graduation from Jordan, MN. He was discharged from the Navy three years later and On November 6,1965 married Nancy Jean (Miller) Potthast and raised two children in Shakopee, MN. Dale worked as a union carpenter for the next 25 years until he joined Bryan Red Rock in Shakopee, MN. Dale continued his work with Bryan Red Rock for 13 years until retirement at age 62. Dale enjoyed family gatherings at Lagoon Park in Jordan, MN; watching football, high school basketball and his pets. In his past time enjoyed writing poetry and had a love of music. Dale’s greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren grow up. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Potthast, Shakopee, MN. Children: Sherrie (Matt) Barslou; Michael (Brandi) Potthast; Grandchildren: Ashley, Matthew, Tyler Brown, Thomas, & Andrew Potthast; Sisters: Sherry (Mark) Schommer, Jeannie Marie Partlow, Patty(Joe) Jenny, Barbie (Tom) Sames; In-laws: Jeannie E. Potthast, Bev (Doug) Yaeger, Bobbie (Mike)Evavold; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Violet & Chris, brother Jerry Potthast, nephew Brian Jenny and brother in-law Jim Partlow.
